VendorNG is published and operated by Taksell, of 14 Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria. Taksell is the data controller for everything described here — when this notice says we, it means Taksell.

Three things, and they are worth keeping apart.

What you type in. If you list a business, that is the business name and description, category, state and city, your delivery and payment details, the contact channels you choose to publish (WhatsApp, phone, email, social handles), your Taksell store handle if you have one, and any logo you upload. Your email address also becomes your sign-in. If you use the contact form, it is your name, email and message. If you claim a listing, it is your email and what you tell us about your connection to the business.

What your browser sends. When you open a page that carries ads, we record the path of that page — /state/lagos, nothing more. No cookie is read or written to do it, no visitor id exists, and the record cannot be tied back to you or to any other page you looked at. That is why the counter runs for people who declined the cookie banner as well as those who accepted it.

What our suppliers collect. Google's ad script sets its own cookies and reads its own identifiers on the browsing pages. We do not receive them and cannot see them. This is set out in full on the cookies page, where you can also change your choice.

• —No buyer accounts. Searching and browsing the directory needs no sign-up, and we do not create a profile of you for doing it.
• —No cookies of our own. Not one. What we keep in your browser is localStorage, it stays on your device, and it is itemised on the cookies page.
• —No tracking between pages. There is no visitor id, no session id and no fingerprint, so we cannot follow a path through the site even if we wanted to.
• —No location beyond what a vendor typed. We do not ask your browser where you are; the state and city on a listing are the ones the vendor chose to publish.
• —No payment details. Buying from a vendor happens on their Taksell store or directly with them, never on this site.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 — and, for visitors in the UK or the EU, the UK GDPR and GDPR — we rely on these grounds:

• —Your consent for publishing a listing, and separately for personalised advertising. Both can be withdrawn: the first by pausing or removing your listing, the second on the cookies page.
• —Performing a contract when you sign in to manage a listing or buy a featured placement.
• —Our legitimate interests in reviewing submissions, keeping fraudulent or unlawful listings off the directory, counting page views, and defending the site against abuse — balanced against the fact that none of it identifies a reader.
• —A legal obligation where we must keep records or answer a lawful request.

Everyone, for a published listing. That is the point of a directory. Every field you put on your listing — including any phone number, WhatsApp number or email you add — is public, indexed by search engines and shareable. Only publish contact details you want published.

Beyond that, a short list:

• —Google, which serves the ads. Its own privacy terms apply to what it collects.
• —Taksell, which runs the platform behind this site and its email delivery. Where you link a Taksell store, we read its public details — the store name, description and published products — to show them here.
• —Our hosting and infrastructure providers, which process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
• —A court or regulator, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

• —A published listing — for as long as it is listed. Remove it and the public page goes; we keep a limited record of the decision so the same rejected submission does not cycle back through review.
• —A submission that was not approved — kept while you can still appeal or resubmit, then deleted.
• —Contact-form messages — kept as email for as long as the conversation is useful, then deleted with the thread.
• —Page-view counts — kept indefinitely, because they are counts. There is nothing personal in them to expire.
• —What is in your browser — yours, on your device, and gone when you clear it. See cookies.

You can ask us to:

• —Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy.
• —Correct anything that is wrong.
• —Delete it — including taking a listing down entirely.
• —Stop using it in a particular way, or object to us using it at all.
• —Hand it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format.

Two of these you can do yourself and immediately: sign in to edit, pause or delete your listing, and use the cookies page to change your advertising choice.

For anything else, email support@taksell.com or use the contact form. We answer within 30 days. There is no charge, and we will not ask you to explain why.

The site and the API run over HTTPS. Vendor sign-in uses a single-use link sent to your email rather than a password, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. Access to submissions and listing data is limited to the people who review them, and administrative actions are logged.

No system is perfectly secure. If something does go wrong and it puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

We are in Nigeria, and so is most of the processing. Some of our suppliers — hosting, email delivery, Google's advertising — operate outside Nigeria, so data may be transferred abroad. Where it is, we use providers who commit to appropriate safeguards for those transfers, including the standard contractual terms the UK and EU require.

VendorNG is not for children. You must be 18 or over to list a business. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child — if you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

When this notice changes materially we update the effective date at the top and, where the change affects what we do with data you have already given us, we tell listed vendors by email. Small corrections happen without notice.

Tell us first — most things are a misunderstanding we can fix in a reply. If that does not settle it, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you can instead complain to your own supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
